What to do the night before your AP US history exam

By the time you arrive the night before your AP exam day, hopefully you’ve studied enough to be ready. However, regardless of your level of preparedness, this can be quite a stressful period. Here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Hopefully, by now you will have taken at least one practice test. If you did well enough, rest assured that the AP exam itself will be very similar. If you haven’t taken a practice test, you might consider taking one, even the night before the test (just do the multiple-choice section), to get an idea of how the test will feel.

2. Don’t try to stuff a ton of information into your brain at the last minute. You can study a bit last minute, of course, but don’t stay up late. Be in bed at least 10:00 or 11:00.

3. If you cannot fall asleep right away, take some time to think about how you will feel about taking the test. Go over all the major topics you went through and make sure there isn’t anything you forgot to prepare for.

4. Lastly, try to relax. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world will take the AP exam, just like you. Most of them are probably not as smart as you are. Do not worry. You’ll do fine. If nothing else, remember that AP grades are not included on your transcript.
