Jet Lag Bath Remedy

Don’t waste any of your precious vacation or business time due to the disorienting effects of long-distance travel or jet lag.

This remedy is the simplest and most natural jet lag bath remedy that I have come across. It was developed by a physician from the South Sea Islands many years ago.

Use this simple treatment as soon as possible after getting off the plane. Within the first few hours is for the best. The longer you wait, the less effective it will be. I tried it once after three days and it didn’t work much, so I had to “put up with” the effects of jet lag for a while longer.

This jet lag bath therapy only takes a little over an hour and can be done at any time of the day or night.

GOOD NEWS: Two can swim for the price of one !! This is a soak, not a bath, and the person who likes the water to be warmer can soak first, then the other person can use the same water.

1. Pack one 8-ounce box of baking soda and one cup of Epsom salts * in a zip-top bag or plastic container. (Label it ‘Epsom salts’ so Customs won’t freak out because you’re dealing drugs.)

2. As soon as you arrive at your hotel or destination, fill the tub with water as hot as you can safely tolerate and dissolve the salts and soda in the water.

3. While the tub is filling, drink at least 8 ounces of water, preferably more. Air travel is notoriously dehydrating.

4. The water level should cover your shoulders, so you may have to slide down into the tub. It’s okay for your knees to stick out of the water. The thing is to submerge your entire torso.

5. Soak for 7 to 10 minutes. Just soak, do not wash with soap.

6. Do not cross your arms over your body, keep them at your sides. Do not cross your legs or ankles while in the bathtub.

7. Get up slowly from the bathtub after 7 to 10 minutes and pat dry gently. Do not rub your skin with the towel or make sudden movements.

8. Lie on your back and cover yourself with at least one sheet so you don’t get cold too quickly. Rest an hour.

9. While resting, keep your arms at your sides and your legs straight out of your body. Do not cross your arms over your body and do not cross your legs or ankles. – the same as in the bathtub. If you are more comfortable with a pillow under your knees, that’s fine.

10. After an hour’s rest, you can get up, shower, and continue your journey; Or you can roll over and go to sleep at night.

You may want to add a few drops of essential oils to Epsom salts or baking soda before dissolving them in your bath. To relax, add lavender; to balance, add lavender and rosemary; To energize at the start of the day, add grapefruit, lemon, and / or a pinch of mint.

This safe and simple jet lag treatment will rebalance the nervous system, restore cell pH, relax muscles, and reset the biological clock to present time – holistic at its finest!

When you wake up from rest or sleep, you will feel refreshed and fully prepared to make the most of your trip. And take a shower when you get home too! Good trip!
