Tips for maintaining your motorcycle
Do you love your bike and want to keep it in perfect condition? You can do it easily by following some maintenance tips.
tires
- Regularly check tires for scratches, cuts and embedded stones.
- Check if the air pressure in the tire is correct
- Periodically check tire alignment
Brakes
- Make sure the brakes are not too tight or too loose.
- Replace worn brake pads if you constantly hear the screeching sound
- Make sure the brake fluid is at the correct level
- Periodically check to see if dirt or grime builds up on the brake shoe
Spark plug
- From time to time you should check if the spark plug is working well
- Remove the spark plug and clean the area
- Soak it in a little kerosene or gasoline, and then wipe it off with a clean cloth.
- Check if the electrodes are clean and correctly connected.

- Replace corroded or damaged spark plugs immediately
Drums
- Periodically inspect the battery terminals and remove any sediment or dirt buildup.
- Use a brush to remove dirt and sediment.
- Check if the fuse is working properly.
- See if there is any leakage in the battery.
- If you have a distilled water battery, you should change the water once every two months.
- Disposable batteries are easy to use and do not require much maintenance. But you should not use it after its useful life is over.
headlights/taillights
- Wipe the headlights and taillights with a clean cloth every day.
- You can also do the same thing with your indicators and brake lights.
- Turn on the light and check the aim of the beam and the brightness of the light.
- If the light beam is misaligned, have it repaired immediately.
- Replace cracked taillights and gauges immediately
horn
- Check if the speaker wires are connected correctly
- Clean it with a dry cloth every day.
Motor oil
- Regularly check the engine oil level
- Replace the engine oil after the prescribed kilometers
Air filter
- If the air filter is made of paper, simply tap on it to dislodge any accumulated dust.
- If the air filter is foam, it should be washed in solvent and dried before replacing.
transmission chain
- The slack in the drive chain changes from bike to bike. Check the slack level in your bike manual and make sure the level is maintained at all times
- Adjust the drive chain with the rear axle nut and swingarm
- Check wheel alignment before tightening lug nut
- Make sure the chain is well lubricated for smooth movement.
Clutch
- Check the cable attached to the clutch for loose connections
- Adjust using a threaded adjuster and locknut
