Time wasted on social media addiction

It is an incredible addiction that leads people to stay up all hours of the night checking their phones, tablets or computers to see who is watching them. What is the point? People who judge their worth by this kind of answer aren’t worth much. They are missing out on personal contact with those who can make a difference to them and who can support them as they move through life.

The really bad side is the way it opens an avenue for intimidation by others who act against their interests. Young children commit suicide over this and it works both ways. Without the support of family and personal friends, this is driving people to do horrible things.

Terrorists are also using social media to recruit others to their cause. They are able to get inside the heads of their victims since the conversations are private and dangerous. Many have fallen into the trap and are dead or preparing to die on suicide missions.

This is the modern world and now everything is so available that the authorities don’t know how to deal with it. Videos designed to distract and engage people for hours on end are often fake stories meant to shock. During the Christmas period, some of these were so disgusting and harmful to the targeted people that one wonders the motive behind them.

The scary thing is how believable they are. Without going into detail and publicity, the claims made would have been useful to those seeking to destroy people’s faith in certain politicians, tennis players and others.

This is the garbage that invades the minds of children and is inciting more of the same. Some perform extraordinary and dangerous acts to post on social media in order to get people to click on the videos or images. The number of hits adds to his psyche as something that increases his ego.

While the benefits or harms of psychiatry are not publicized, they should be. This is a dangerous time-wasting hobby that is worse for some than taking drugs. It is a drug and it is highly addictive as one can easily go an hour or two without even realizing how much time has passed. It detracts from normal learning and family time while missing out on important things.

Nothing can or will change people’s habits and one has to look at the amount of money the company makes to know that the point of getting addicted is money. These sites are great advertisers and get paid very well every time you are exposed to an ad. This is what those who cannot help but connect with them should notice.
