Misconceptions about satellite television

The battle between satellite TV providers and cable TV providers seems endless. Both maintain their individual status in the market. Here are some misconceptions about satellite television.

1. The cost of satellite television is very expensive. This is certainly untrue as satellite TV is extremely cheap and affordable for almost everyone.

2. Image quality when it rains is not good. This is indeed a false belief. If the satellite is installed properly, you will receive the best picture quality no matter how hard it is raining.

3. Satellite TV cannot be upgraded to HDTV. Several service providers provide a free HDTV upgrade to first-time satellite TV users, proving this claim to be false.

4. An individual satellite receiver is needed for each TV. This is false. You can get a receiver, which can change channels on a couple of TVs and each tune to a different channel. With some receiver models, you can also record your most watched shows.

5. The cost of the repair is too high. This is absolutely false. With most satellite providers, you get an agreement for a certain amount of time within which you can repair your satellite at no cost. After the period ends, you need to pay only a certain amount that everyone can afford.

6. The satellite TV provider does not have home service. For any form of technical support, all you need to do is make an inquiry call, and in no time, the service provider will schedule an appointment at a time convenient for you to repair your satellite TV if needed.

7. You cannot access free mobility programs. Most satellite service providers offer a free mobility program. You just need to bring your existing receivers to your new home, and then your in-home service providers will professionally install it for you.
