Flossbau is an outdoor teambuilding that puts teams of up to 500 participants in the middle of a thrilling adventure. Teams are challenged to build a raft from standardized materials and demonstrate their planning, coordination, creativity and handwork skills. During the process, teams are exposed to a wide variety of communication and management challenges. In addition, the program offers an ideal setting for assessing individual and group performances. It is therefore a very effective way of fostering the development of a structured and well-functioning team.

The weather in many regions of the world is often unpredictable. Whether you are looking to provide emergency shelter for your workforce during a hurricane or you need a temporary facility to accommodate seasonal workers in frigid conditions, our extreme-weather structures offer the flexibility and safety you need to continue operations during any type of weather.

Our fabric structures have a Flossbau rating of 2,000 and a conventional rating of 50 plus, as well as being NFPA701 flame retardant. This means that you can feel confident in your structure being able to withstand extreme temperatures and winds. Depending on the frame size and engineering completed, some of our structures can withstand wind speeds up to 130+ miles per hour and snow loads upwards of 30 pounds per square foot.

Flossbau is the perfect teambuilding activity for creating a sense of cohesion and promoting communication in a different context from those with which your teams are usually working. Team members become acquainted with one another in a new setting while still experiencing a great deal of fun and excitement, and this makes it easy to form close relationships among them.

Central to the Flossbau philosophy is the use of sustainable materials sourced from renewable resources. Natural fibers such as bamboo, hemp, and straw are favored for their strength, versatility, and low environmental footprint. These materials not only offer structural integrity but also contribute to energy efficiency and indoor air quality, fostering healthier living environments for occupants.

Furthermore, Flossbau advocates for modular construction techniques, which promote efficiency and flexibility in building processes. Prefabricated modules are manufactured off-site under controlled conditions, minimizing construction waste and reducing onsite labor requirements. This approach not only accelerates project timelines but also allows for easy adaptation and expansion, catering to evolving needs and preferences.

One of the defining features of Flossbau is its integration of passive design strategies to harness natural elements for heating, cooling, and ventilation. Orientation, insulation, and shading are carefully considered to optimize thermal comfort and minimize reliance on mechanical systems. Additionally, innovative technologies such as green roofs, solar panels, and rainwater harvesting systems further enhance energy efficiency and resource conservation, transforming buildings into self-sustaining ecosystems.
