50th birthday: fun games for a 50th birthday party

So you are throwing a 50th birthday party for a group who like to have fun, but don’t know what games to play. Here are some fun game ideas for a 50th birthday party.

Some of these 50 birthday party games will require preparation, but it will be worth the effort. Your guest of honor and the other party-goers are sure to have a great time and you will have created a memorable event.

World events game

Do some research and identify a dozen major events that occurred during the guest of honor’s life. Look for an image on the Internet, print it out with a short description of the event. Give three options for the dates the event occurred. One will be correct and the others will not. Distribute these images around your party. Put them on the walls and on the tables. Give guests a list of where to go, find the events, and guess the correct dates. You can make movies, songs, disasters, celebrity deaths, sporting events … be creative.

Crazy truth

Hand out sheets of paper and ask guests to write down something wild or crazy that happened to them in their lifetime – the funnier and crazy the better. Gather all the papers and have someone read them. Everyone will have a great time trying to guess who is “Crazy Truth” with whom.

Guess the price

This can be a fun game and will really take your older guests back in time. The little ones will have fun and be surprised. It will take a bit of research, but it’s worth the effort. Research and identify 10 or 15 items that were popular fifty years ago. It’s especially fun if these items no longer exist or are out of date. Find out how much these products cost fifty years ago. Like a 25 cent movie ticket, or a 30 cent glass container of milk, typewriter $ 9.99, three bedroom house $ 7,999.00 Have your guests guess what the costs were back then. Play it like the game show on TV and whoever comes up is the winner. This is best done with teams.

It’s your life

This is not so much a game, but something really cool to do at a 50th birthday party. Send a request to missions with the invitation. Ask them to write about something significant that they are aware of that took place in the life of the birthday celebrant. Ask them to send it to you along with the RSVP. You can read them at the party. Remind them that the idea is to celebrate the guest of honor, not a “barbecue.”

The icebreaker “Who am I?”

This can be a fun icebreaker game for 50th birthday party guests to warm everyone up and get people talking to each other. Beforehand, make out the name tags of celebrities, superheroes, or mythical characters (whatever you want). As guests enter, they are given a name tag. The problem is that they don’t see who they are. You put their name tag on their back. The objective of the game is that they can ask other guests questions to try to find out who they are. They can only ask yes or no questions. As soon as they correctly guess who they are, they can wear their name tag on the front of their shirt or blouse.
