The game between Celtic and Rangers is scheduled to start at 15:00 GMT on Saturday 5 March 2011, hosted by Celtic at their Celtic Park, Glasgow headquarters.

Celtic will remain euphoric after the Rangers’ loss in the cup on Wednesday, or at least they will be if they have recovered from the drama that erupted after the final whistle.

The last time, after beating the Rangers, Celtic went straight out and failed at Motherwell, returning the title initiative to the Rangers. This time around, manager Neil Lennon and his players will surely be well aware of the dangers of simply showing up. Celtic cannot afford another slip in the league. Even with the class gulf that exists between Celtic and Accies, Celtic will really have to work if they want to win.

Accies got his first point for quite some time in the game against Dundee United last week, but couldn’t take advantage of it when Hibs came to visit him in the next game. Not many expected that to happen. There just doesn’t seem to be a way for Accies to break out of the bottom of the table, particularly with St Mirren scoring points here and there.

Let’s take a quick look at the recent record of these two sides:

Celtic’s last 5 game record says …

[Celtic’s score first]

March 2 Home 1-0 vs Rangers (Scottish Cup)

February 27 Away 0-2 vs Motherwell

February 20 Local 3-0 vs Rangers

Feb 13 Away 3-1 vs Dundee United

February 6 Away 2-2 vs Rangers (Scottish Cup)

The last 5 Accies games log says …

[Accies’ score first]

March 1 House 1-2 vs Hibernian

February 26 Home 1-1 vs Dundee United

February 22 Away 0-1 vs Aberdeen

Feb 19 Away 0-1 vs Motherwell

February 12 Home 0-2 vs Hearts

Note: When analyzing the current form of these two teams, I have taken into account their most recent matches, regardless of whether they were in the Scottish Premier League or not. You can assume that all previous matches took place in the Scottish Premier League, except where you have specified otherwise, in parentheses.

The resurgence of Accies, if there is one, and why shouldn’t there be one, do players have? – It won’t start here. Celtic are not about to make Motherwell’s mistake again. If anything, his biggest win of the season seems likely.

Celtic to win by a wheelbarrow.
