This article focuses on helping you learn how to help your overweight child lose weight. There are many parents who are struggling because their child is overweight and they don’t know what to do.

Today, I want to share three key facts with you that can help your child lose weight and keep it off. When you finish reading this article, you will have three new strategies to help your child.

The first thing parents need to understand is why their child is overweight. You have to diagnose the problem. For most parents, the problem is that their child is not eating well or is not active enough.

There is a reason the obesity rate in children has increased. According to the Center for Disease Control, childhood obesity has increased dramatically in the last 5 to 10 years. Statistics show that children today do not eat as well as they used to and are not as active.

I could sit here and point fingers all day at the reasons childhood obesity is continually increasing, but you are looking for solutions to the problem, right? Let’s take a look at three ways to help your kids be healthier.

The first piece of advice I want to share with you is: “lead by example.” Most likely, if the children are overweight, the parents are too. The first step is to analyze your habits as a parent.

Children follow the example that their parents gave them. If the parents eat healthily, the child is likely to eat better too. If you are active, then your child will be more active. So the first step is to take an honest look at your clothes. Are you leading by example?

The next piece of advice I have for you is: “be more active with your child.” Your child will most likely need a little encouragement to get off the couch, turn off his video games, and go outside to play.

The best way to cheer them up is to do it with them. This goes back to the first tip. Set an example by going out to play and encouraging your child. The goal should be to get your child active for an hour a day and having fun.

You don’t need to go out and do a fitness regimen with your child. Simply taking them out for a run, play, and increasing their heart rate will help boost their metabolism and burn fat.

The last piece of advice I want to share with you is: “have healthier eating habits.” My son Timothy is one of the pickiest eaters I know. It used to be very frustrating trying to get her to eat healthy foods.

At a very young age, all he wanted were chicken nuggets and ketchup. He ate corn and some other vegetables, but it was like pulling his teeth out to try new foods. For the first few years of his life, he simply did not eat meat.

My wife Lynn came up with a great idea that worked very well for us. He got the whole family to grow a garden together. Timmy took the opportunity to dig dirt and plant seeds.

As the plants grew and the vegetables arrived, Timmy got excited and wanted to try them because it had been a part of growing the vegetables. Every day, she would run out and check what new fruits and vegetables were ready to pick.

Timmy now loves trying new foods and likes to eat foods that feed his body and provide good vitamins and nutrients. The best part is: a lot of them are grown in our backyard, making them the healthiest option you can get.

Finally, you should set an example for your child to help him learn the correct way to eat and be physically active. The sooner you start these healthy habits with your child, the more likely they are in life to be fit and healthy.

As an added benefit, you will find that setting a good example to get your child healthy will also help you to be healthier and have better habits. I hope you enjoyed these tips on how to help your overweight child lose weight. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call me.
