Supermarkets Near Glasgow Student Accommodation

Groceries for the week, a new outfit for Saturday night and some ibuprofen for Sunday morning; you’ll undoubtedly need to spend some money on these essentials (and that booze). Luckily, Glasgow has plenty of stores to help you do just that. From small independents to giant supermarkets the size of a city block, there’s something for everyone here.

For your everyday basics, head to Aldi, Tesco or Morrisons, each of which can be found within walking distance of the university. If you’re looking for more specific things, there are also two large asian supermarkets near the city centre – Seawoo and Chung Ying. And if you’re in need of some medicine, there’s a pharmacy located on High Street, just a few minutes walk from campus.

The biggest thing to note when shopping in Glasgow is that it’s pretty cheap compared to the rest of the UK. You’ll find some incredibly affordable clothes stores, homeware shops and beauty boutiques as well as more high-end options like Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.

There’s also a lot of choice when it comes to fast food, with a few chain restaurants and some cool independents serving up everything from pizza and pasta to burgers and burritos. If you’re in the mood for a sit-down meal, you can always dine out at one of Glasgow’s many bars and restaurants.

Away from the food and drink scene, there’s a whole host of other stuff to do. From the famous Barras Market to exploring the beautiful West End, there’s always something to do in this great city.
