With the increasing demand for entertainment, the joy could not be enough for movies and TV shows.

Thank you Glory Internet and your beautiful invention called “Web Series”.

In recent (but rare) years, the web series has come a long way. You have a critically acclaimed show on the web; you have stars making an appearance, all of which have managed to awaken consciousness, the greatest enthusiasm and joy among the masses.

These are some amazing online web episodes that capture the hearts of many and give a voice to all. The following are the top 8 of them. (Don’t you agree? Feel free to tell us why)

SOS: Save Our Skins

Starring and written by the team behind British television staples (Smack the Pony and The IT Crowd), the series follows two British nerds, Stephen and Ben played by Chris Haywood and Nat Saunders respectively, who are excited about their New York convention. After reaching the city, they wake up to find only to find that they are the only two people left on Earth. The show boasts of comedy, science fiction, and, of course, horror. At just 13 episodes, it has garnered huge audiences and took home the Best British Series award at Raindance Web Fest last year.

High school video game

Come on, we’d be causing great heartache if we didn’t mention this epic action-comedy web series. The concept is set in the future and tells us about the experience of the protagonist, a gamer, Brian Doheny (Josh Playlock) at VGHS, an elite facility dedicated to teaching a video game curriculum, only video games. Did we hear you say Woaahhhh? The series is produced by Freddie Wong’s RocketJump Studios.

Sad motivator

How is this for a premise? A guy is going through a bad breakup, the situation is getting worse, and a creepy, globular green killer friend, Mark (those devil-type shoulder dancers) appears and whispers sweet perversion into the first guy’s ears. As Kevin moves on with his ex-girlfriend’s roommate, his supposed acting guide stimulates him with threatening comments. Very intense? Creepy? Exciting? Regardless of how you feel about this psychological thriller, it has earned a maximum majority of horror fans.

F to 7

The mastermind behind this critically acclaimed series, Ingrid Jungermann is a familiar face in the entertainment industry with her first dynamic attempt ‘The Slope’. Jungermann writes, directs and stars in this critically acclaimed show that explores the life of a gay woman struggling to find her identity in the modern world. The show portrays the insecurities of a middle-aged lesbian in a compelling but hilarious way. With popular names like Kristen Connolly (House of Cards) guest stars and funded by the Spike Lee Production Award, we can safely assume that season three will begin mid-year.

H +: the digital series

Created by Bryan Singer and Warner Bros., ‘H +’ is apocalyptic science fiction that will have you asking questions about the existence of technology and the potential threat that can arise if humanity loses control in the coming days. H + delivers the nightmare image of the future, accompanied by ambitious narrative and cinematic visuals.

Write it down

“Delivering bad news is hard to do … especially when you don’t know what it is,” is how the story turns in this much-loved web series. Fun fact: there are no scripts and they are based on an impromptu conversation. Australia’s best comedians take on the ultimate challenge and perform in this completely improvised show that takes them into the most awkward situation, different in each episode and live in front of the camera. Simple, but very original! Not to mention, it won multiple awards at LA Web fest last year.

High maintenance

The list is incomplete if we do not take into account the ‘High Maintenance’ of Ben Sinclair and Katja Blichfeld. This black comedy redefines the term ‘stoner’. The web series follows an anonymous marijuana dealer named The Guy (played by Sinclair) and his encounters with a new group of clients in New York City. Customers need more or less more than just a joint. Trust the show to amaze you with every episode where The Guy will witness relationship breakdowns, job crises, family wars, and much more. We are not the only ones in awe of the show; The fan base grows with likes of Orange: New Black creator Jenji Kohan and Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens.

Justice Woman

It’s no wonder ‘Justice Woman’ garnered recognition for her vision of today’s unjust society. The talented Vanessa Verduga understood the impact the show would create when she conceived Justice Woman in October 2012. The web series follows the story of a very modern and original assistant district attorney, Sofia Escala, who after discovering the legal system itself destined to serve justice. without prejudice is full of corruption and collusion. Determined to put an end to this, she dons the secret identity of Justice Woman with the help of her partner and best friend, Robert Gallion. The series has won many awards in a short span of time, including Vanessa herself for the Best Leading Actress award at the 2013 Los Angeles Web Festival and the Best Sexy Actress award at the 2014 Rome Web Awards at Italy and the Award for Excellence in Multimedia for Hispanics. Latino Actors Organization (making it the first recipient). This year it is making the rounds in the ROME WEB AWARDS with numerous nominations.
